I had a great time playing Chicago Jazz Fest this year. There is a always a great vibe that surrounds the city during the festival and it was fun to be a part of it. The Frank Catalano Quartet did a pre party event hosted by Delmark Records at Burning Bush Brewery that include both jazz and blues artist in Delmark’s stable. Terrific event and I’ll share a short video from our performance.
On Sunday there was a mist over the lake but still a strong crowd and we really felt great and had a terrific set. I’ve included a beautiful shot us taken by Frank’s wife Sona. I was also fortunately to play with the Abby Riccards band featuring Joel Frahm at an after party Sunday night. Joel is a super player and getting to spend a little time on the bandstand with him was great! I was able to catch a few excellent sets from the bands of Nick Mazzerella and Immanuel Wilkins in between my performances. What a weekend!
